Annie Sloan’s Soft Wax is the perfect partner for her Chalk Paint® decorative paint because they have been developed to work together. It can be used for protection and to give a beautiful mellow matte finish on painted furniture, cabinets, and walls. Our Soft Wax can be mixed with Chalk Paint® to make a colored wax — how amazing.
How to Use: Apply clear wax over dry Chalk Paint®. The wax will appear to darken the paint, but when dry it won’t be so apparent. For a distressed finish, rub gently with fine sandpaper AFTER applying the clear wax (while wax is still wet), then wax again. For a more pronounced aged look, use dark wax over the clear wax, working it into any brush textures and removing excess with the clear wax. Finally, buff
with a cloth.
To maintain your furniture, use a spray cleaner and re-wax. Annie’s Soft Wax is water repellent, so it can be used on kitchen cabinets and table tops — apply two coats of wax, letting the coats dry in between, and buff to a high sheen. Soft Wax is not recommended for areas with a lot of water.
Wax brushes should be washed in hot soapy water immediately after use.
